What’s an Escape Room?
You and your teammates are locked in a room (don’t worry, there’s an emergency button!), and you’re tasked with finding clues, solving puzzles, and cracking the codes so you can unlock the room and make your escape before time is up!
We have three immersive settings with varying levels of difficulty to ensure you and your team has a blast!

Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
For group events and special occasions, we can provide off-hours play – just call us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Our Durham Escape Rooms
We have three unique, indoor escape rooms, each featuring exciting stories and realistic settings. But how do they work?
Just you and your team enter the room and the all exits lock behind you. Then, the timer starts, and you get to work looking for the solution that will open the door. There are puzzles, hidden clues, and codes to crack, so you’ll definitely get a mental workout! Find the solution and unlock the door before time runs out, and you win the game!
Due to the difficulty of the puzzles and mild scares (in the Laboratory, only), we would only recommend our escape rooms for people age 10 and up. For a more family friendly puzzle experience, check out The Outdoor Quest Adventure, an outdoor adventure game with puzzles and more!
The Bunker
As new recruits you are immersed in the depths of a TOP SECRET bunker that has the capabilities of launching nuclear missiles. A rogue agent is amongst you and you must figure out who that is to stop him from launching the missiles and starting WWIII.
Difficulty: Hard
Time: 60 minutes
Price: $35 per person
Size: 2-6 people (if you have 7 or 8 people it is possible but we recommend no more than 6)
The Lab
A team of scientists have discovered a genetically enhanced ability: cloaking (invisibility). This ability was applied to a group of soldiers. Unfortunately, after a few months, the genetically modified soldiers became too aggressive. Your mission as a scientist is to head to the lab and figure out where the soldiers are located to bring them back and reverse engineer their abilities before they kill innocent people.
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 60 minutes
Price: $35 per person
Size: 2-6 people (if you have 7 or 8 people it is possible but we recommend no more than 6)
The Jail
You robbed a bank and you’ve been incarcerated for the past 7 months. After eating the food and hearing the same stories from your cellmate, you’ve decided that this life just isn’t for you. You’ve successfully bribed a prison guard to look the other way while you steal his keys and escape.
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 30 minutes
Price: $18 per person

The Pioneer Trail Quest
Welcome to the 1800s where pioneers ventured to America for the gold rush and the American dream. Your are sent back in time on an adventure with a diary that landed in your hands and quests to solve. The game is filled with fun outdoor puzzles to challenge you and your little ones. You can choose to play in teams against each other or together.
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 1 hour
Price: $35 per person
Size: 1-20 people (will be divided in groups depending on the group size)

Xtreme Park Adventures Escape Rooms Frequently Asked Questions
What is Xtreme Escape (XE)?
XE is an escape room venue with 2 different experiences. In each experience you will be locked inside for a designated amount of time while you and your team try to figure out how to escape. The rooms contain clues, trap doors, and hidden items. Anything that’s not glued or bolted down can be moved and may be an integral piece in your quest to escape (and survive).
What is an escape room/escape game?
The escape game genre started out as a series of point-and-click computer games where players must escape from a locked area by using the environment around him/her. XE is a live version of this, where you must physically search the environment for items and clues that will help you escape. You are given a set amount of time to try and escape before your fate is sealed.
Will I actually be locked in the room?
Yes, the exit door will actually be locked immediately after the game begins. However, there will be a “panic button” near all exit door that you or any member of your team may press in case of an emergency. Hitting this button will unlock the exit door so that you can exit the room safely.
Is this a haunted house?
No, XE is an escape game and is very different than a haunted house. You will enter the room with the rest of your team, and then be given a set amount of time to solve the puzzles inside and escape. You’ll directly interact with many aspects of the environment inside, touching things, moving things, opening things, (occasionally crawling through things) etc. There are no lines to follow or set paths to traverse, just a space full of clues, items, and puzzles.
Are escape rooms scary?
Our bunker and jail escape rooms are not scary. The lab escape room does have a few jump scares, so please be prepared.
Are there actors in the rooms and will they touch me? Can I touch them?
No, there are no actors in our rooms.
What is the recommended age for escape room participants?
No one under the age of 10 years will be admitted. Participants 17 years or younger must be accompanied by at least one adult that is at least 21 years old, and must have a waiver signed prior to participating.
How many people can play at once?
Each room varies, see below for maximum allowances:
The Missile Bunker = Up to 2-6 people, Click here to purchase tickets and reserve your time.

There is no minimum number of tickets that must be purchased, but if you purchase less than the room’s capacity, be prepared to share the room with other guests. Sharing the room can actually make the experience more fun.
NOTE: Our rooms require at least 2 people. If you are alone and want to try them out. Make sure you book a spot on a room that has at least 1 reserved spot on it.
What if I have a group larger than the maximum occupancy of the room?
In this case management may make rare exceptions, but we strongly advise against it. We could fit up to 8 people but it is more comfortable with no more than 6. If your group is 7 or 8 people we can accommodate. Please call us for reservations of 7-8 people.
Will I be playing with other people?
There is a possibility you may be playing in the escape rooms with other people if the room is not full, but that very rarely happens.

Are the escape rooms physically demanding?
No, all levels are welcome.
How long do I have to complete the game?
What happens if you don’t escape in time?
You have lost the game. We will still let you out when your time has run out.
Can I play if I'm pregnant?
This is completely up to you. Since there are elements that may frighten or startle you, we would recommend that you sit this one out, but again its up to your discretion. If you do decide to visit us while pregnant, please make sure to make your host aware of your pregnancy long before your game begins.
Do I have to book online or can I pay cash when I get there?
Unfortunately, we have too many instances where people make reservations to pay cash at the door and are simply no call no shows. For this reason all tickets must be paid in advance. We are sorry for the inconvenience. However, if cash is you’re only option, we can accept full payment in advance in order to secure your ticket time. Please call us to schedule your advance cash purchase.
Can I show up and play?
If you show up at our park and we have the room available then absolutely as long as we have the appropriate staff. We highly recommend you reserve and pay your tickets online. You don’t want to come up all the way up here to find out that the rooms are full.
I'm commuting 2 hours to be there, and I arrived an hour early. Is there anything else to do there?
Yes, XE is part of Xtreme Park Adventures theme park. We have many activities like ziplining, ropes course, paintball and more!
How long before my scheduled time do I need to arrive?
We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled ticket time in order to fill-out paperwork and listen to our tips and safety speech. DO NOT BE LATE, if you arrive late your tickets will not be refunded or rescheduled.
If I'm late, can I still play?
If you arrive after we have started the game (the time slot you have booked), we cannot allow you inside. This would disrupt the game for the other participating players and negatively affect the schedule for the rest of the shows. No refunds or rescheduling of show times will be offered for late arrivals or no-shows. Please account for traffic, and map us out beforehand so there are no surprises.
I need to reschedule my reservation!
If you need to reschedule, you MUST contact us AT LEAST 2 days (48 hours) before your reservation. If you contact us after this period, or if your booking was created within this period, we WILL NOT be able to reschedule your booking. Please be aware of this before booking your reservation with us.
I purchased tickets, but I need to reschedule to a later date, how do I do that?
As long as you are within the 48hs for rescheduling you can give us a call and we would gladly help you find the next available spot for you.
I would like to cancel my reservation for a refund
We have a strict NO CANCELLATION/NO REFUND policy. All sales are final and nonrefundable regardless of whether you show up for your reservation or the reasoning for you not being able to make it. Please be aware of this before booking your reservation with us.
IMPORTANT: We ask that you please do your research on what this is, where it is located, and how you will get here on time BEFORE purchasing your tickets.
What is the parking situation there?

I can't find you guys, where are you?
Our Address is 7460 Wake Forest Rd. Durham, NC 27703. We are about 3 miles from Creedmoor Rd (HWY 50) in Raleigh and about 9 miles from downtown Durham.

Is it possible to book a show time outside of the current schedule?
Absolutely, we can always book a special time, however the minimum purchase is 1 full room. We can do this any time before or after our current schedule, or even on days closed. Please call us to schedule.
